Privacy Policy

DukaanLink (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a hyperlocal commerce platform that lets shop owners (vendors) set up an online storefront and lets customers browse those storefronts and place orders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the DukaanLink mobile app you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information needed to provide the service.

a) Information you provide

• Phone number — used to sign you in via a one-time password (OTP). Vendors sign in to manage their shop; customers may optionally sign in to save details and view order history.
• Name — your name (vendor name or customer name) for your profile and orders.
• Shop details (vendors) — shop name, description, category, address, city, pincode, opening hours, and delivery settings you enter.
• Product information (vendors) — product names, prices, descriptions, and product photos you choose to upload from your camera or photo gallery.
• Order & delivery details (customers) — delivery address, contact phone, and any order notes you enter at checkout.

b) Information collected automatically

• Device push token — for vendors, we register a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can notify you when a new order arrives. This does not identify you personally.
• Basic technical/usage data — standard request information (such as app version and timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.

We do not collect your precise GPS location, contacts, microphone audio, or browsing history outside the app.

2. Device Permissions

• Internet / network — to communicate with our servers.
• Photos / media (storage) — only when a vendor chooses to add or replace a product photo. We access only the image you select; we do not scan your gallery.
• Camera — only if a vendor chooses “Take Photo” to capture a product image.
• Notifications — to alert vendors about new orders (you can disable these in your device settings).
• Vibration — for subtle in-app tactile feedback.

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; some features that rely on it may then be unavailable.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate you and keep your account secure (phone OTP).
• Create and operate vendor storefronts and product catalogs.
• Process, fulfil, and let you track orders.
• Send vendors order notifications.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. How Information Is Shared

• Between customer and vendor: when you place an order, the relevant vendor receives the order details (your name, contact phone, delivery address, and the items ordered) so they can fulfil it. Customers see a vendor’s public shop information.
• Service providers: we use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Messaging) and Google Cloud Platform (hosting and database) to run the app. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security controls.
• Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.

We do not share your information with any other third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

6. Your Choices & Rights

• Access / update: you can view and edit your profile, shop, and product details within the app.
• Notifications: disable order notifications in your device settings.
• Account deletion: to delete your account and associated personal data, email riyazshaikh16in@gmail.com and we will process your request within a reasonable period.

7. Children’s Privacy

DukaanLink is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
